He had a particular interest in different construction materials; especially steel which he considered a natural material with the same artistic fineness as other natural materials. This unique coffee table refers back to the best traditions of Scandinavian craftsmanship. As with several of his tables, Kjærholm created PK65™ to complement one or more of his many chairs and sofas; in this case, the PK20™ lounge chair. Manufactured by E. Kold Christensen, Denmark in the early 1960s, the table has a satin steel frame with a glass top. Marked on the satin steel frame; Poul Kjaerholm PK 61 coffee table with Provenance from a Princeton University Professor available upon request.
